Flying is Fun!

Are you sure? – fun I hear you question? – yes fun! – Flying can be a lot of fun - mixed in with the whole experience of going somewhere new and exciting - but if you are frightened of flying, fun is the last thing on your mind.

I have worked with many people who have been very scared of flying and have often had a long flight scheduled in the not too distant future which was concerning them. Hence they have arrived at my door.

Sarah............“I can't thank you enough for your help – it has changed my life” said Sarah before she went on an Operation Raleigh trip to South America.

When we worked together we found ways of making her flight fun. Previously she had experienced a flight when she had extreme anxiety and consequently felt very nervous about flying again. Once we had resolved that, we were able to find ways that Sarah could really enjoy her flying times.

Sally............Another of my clients was very concerned about the impact her flying would have on her young son who she had had to leave with his father. Wasn’t it very irresponsible to fly now that she was a mother? These were the thoughts flying around in her head – literally. We discussed the truth of this statement – and, as flying is one of the safest way of transporting ourselves across the planet, this did not bear up to close examination. She was not being irresponsible flying. However her feelings about being a mother and responsibility had become tangled up with flying and so every time she flew she would get very concerned and worried. Now she jets to America every fortnight with her business.

How do I work?

I work at your pace. I want to know how I can help you the most.

The process can take 10 minutes or it can take several sessions - it really depends on factors that don’t become obvious until we are working. For this reason i like to make sure that there is time for at least two sessions before you fly. They can be done on consecutive days but i usually work a week apart.

What I do is offer your mind the opportunity to let go of all the thoughts around being scared of flying. Hence flying can become fun!!! And we have fun doing this too. You don't have to spend a long time re-experiencing it - and you are always in control. There are some techniques which suggest people just do whatever it is that scares them and it will get better. I believe that it will get better if you want it to. Purely and simply.

About me: I have worked in the health area for over 16 years and prior to this in the stressful arena of public relations so I know from personal experience how NLP and hypnotherapy can change everything. I have trained as an NLP Health Trainer and Master Practitioner as well as an Ericksonian Hypnotherapist . I have done many courses - ranging from 12 step type work to psychosynthesis.
