KNOW YOUR AIRLINE

"We all live in an age where air travel is fast becoming very much the 'norm' rather than an extravagance. Certainly, the advent of "budget" airlines has led to a new breed of air "commuters", who regard a one or even two hour flight as no more stressful (or risky) than a similar trip via car,
train or ferry.

Such widespread and increasing use of the skies in this way can only make life more difficult for those of us with a fear of flying. Of course, airlines - like most businesses - can differ considerably in the way they approach passenger service, comfort and wellbeing. As someone who, some years ago had a mild - but very real - fear of flying, I know what an incredible difference the attitude of airline staff can make.

Sadly, cabin crew standards seem these days to be more unpredictable than ever - fluctuating wildly from airline to airline, and even from flight to flight! This is one of the main reasons that I founded

I have no faith in the "customer services" departments of these large (and some not so large) corporations, who seem to think that renaming their passengers "customers" constitutes a huge leap forward in customer care! No, I'd rather read about the real experiences of real people...

So, for those of you who may have experienced very poor - or very good service with a particular airline, we offer the freedom to share your experiences and feelings with the world.. (anonymously should you prefer).

And for those of you who would like the information and opportunity to make an informed choice about whom you fly with, I hope we can provide some useful pointers about who's likely to be most sympathetic to any special requests.
